The rich heritage and history of South Finistère
Take a tour of Brittany through its exceptional heritage. At the heart of history, Brittany tells its own story through its ancient stones, like those of the Moulin à Vent de Kercousquet.
The only mill in Finistère still in working order, it is a true heritage of the past. Breton heritage.
Built in the middle of the 15th century, the Kercousquet Windmill (or Mill Milin-avel Kercousquet), three generations of millers will succeed one another in its use until the end of its activity around 1936.
The mill lost its roof during the Second World War and was used as a wood store until it fell into disrepair.
In the 1990s, thanks to the impetus of the’association «In the 1990s, the building was restored to its former glory in the »Milin-Avel Kercousquet" style, while retaining its architectural authenticity.
You can now take part in the celebrations during the mill's summer days, with exhibitions, events and Breton music. A real cultural plunge back in time!
