Now an internationally renowned surfing spot, the Pointe de la Torche is a natural peninsula in the heart of the Pays Bigouden. Classified as a protected natural site since 1965, it is also part of the classified natural site of the Audierne Bay since 1989.

A little history
As you approach the headland, you'll discover a burial mound dating back to the Neolithic period. This tumulus, erected atop the granite promontory, comprises two superimposed cairns. The upper cairn contains two megalithic monuments, including a Middle Neolithic dolmen containing human bones dated between 4500 and 4090 BC. On this site, we also found a pile of shells (now virtually extinct) dating back to the Mesolithic period, left by the men and women of the time who fed mainly on shells.
